taxes
Any employer who expects to pay more than the annual wage threshold to a single employee ($2,400 for 2023) has legal tax obligations. Employers are legally required to withhold their portion of Medicare, Social Security, and Unemployment from their nanny’s wages. We recommend Homework Solutions, HomePay or GTM payroll services for help with your household tax needs. For top line information about employment laws in VA, click here.
